§ 18-36. Definitions.
The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
Airport means the area of land designated for the landing and take-off of aircraft and designated the Valkaria Airport, including air navigation facilities referable thereto and any facilities provided for the shelter, servicing, or repair of aircraft, or for receiving and discharging passengers or cargo, all appurtenant access roads and other rights of ways, whether heretofore or hereafter established for the landing and taking off of aircraft at Valkaria Airport.
Airport manager means the Valkaria Airport manager, or designee, who shall be considered an agent of the county.
Board means the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners.
Commercial activity means any activity conducted with an intention to profit, whether or not resulting in a profit or gain.
County means Brevard County, a political subdivision of the State of Florida.
County manager means the Brevard County manager or designee.
FAA means the United States Federal Aviation Administration.
Motor vehicle means any vehicle, other than aircraft, which is designed to be capable of being propelled under its own power.
Parking area means any area at the Valkaria Airport designated by the county manager or designee by signs as being set aside for the parking of motor vehicles.
Permit includes leases, space use permits, concession agreements, landing fee agreements, or other written grants of permission authorized by the board of county commissioners to use the Valkaria Airport, or part thereof, for the conduct of a commercial activity.
Person means any individual, firm, partnership, corporation, company, association, joint stock association, or body politic; and includes any trustee, receiver, assignee, or other similar representative thereof.
Town means the incorporated Town of Grant-Valkaria.
