§ 22-479. Requirements for supervision.

  • It shall be unlawful for any contractor licensed by the board to employ any person to engage in the skilled work of installing roofing, waterproofing, electrical, plumbing or H.A.R.V. fixtures or systems, or any part thereof, where such person is not duly qualified and certified by the board in such field, or who is not under the direct supervision of a master and/or journeyman, so qualified and certified by the board. Any contractor found in violation of this provision shall, upon conviction, be punished in accordance with the provisions of section 1-7 of the Code of Ordinances of Brevard County, Florida. In addition, it shall constitute grounds for disciplinary action under the provisions of section 22-534 for any contractor licensed by the board to employ any person to engage in the skilled work of installing roofing, waterproofing, electrical, plumbing or H.A.R.V. fixtures or systems or any part thereof, where not duly qualified and certified by the board in such field, or who is not under the direct supervision of a person so qualified and certified by the board. Direct supervision shall mean the actual presence at the jobsite of any person so qualified and certified by the board. At no time shall any person so qualified and certified by the board have more than four uncertified persons under his direct supervision.
