§ 2-170. Powers.
The code enforcement special magistrate shall have the power to:
(1)
Adopt rules for the conduct of the hearings. Such rules shall be written and distributed with any notices of hearings.
(2)
Subpoena alleged violators, witnesses and evidence to its hearings. Subpoenas may be served by the sheriff or any deputy sheriff of the county.
(3)
Take testimony under oath.
(4)
Issue orders having the force of law to command whatever steps are necessary to bring a violation into compliance.
