§ 202-57. Health department employees.

  • (a)

    The board of county commissioners of Brevard County is authorized to provide life, health, accident, hospitalization, surgical and annuity insurance, or all or any part of such insurance, for Brevard County health department employees and their families, upon a group insurance plan. The board shall advertise for bids and shall award said group insurance to the lowest and best bidder; providing that if no bids are received, the board shall have the discretion to contract for such insurance on such terms and conditions as it may deem desirable.

    (b)

    The board of county commissioners is authorized to pay all or any portion of the premiums for such group insurance as an operating expense. The board is further authorized to deduct periodically from the wages of any employee, upon the written request of such employee, any premium or portion of premium for any such insurance.
