§ 218-32. Jury list; selection; examination of exemption claims.

  • The jury commissioners shall select and list the number of male and female inhabitants of Brevard County as provided by law, known or believed to be qualified under the laws of Florida to be jurors who, even if exempt, have not filed a written claim of exemption from jury duty as hereinafter provided; provided, however, that the name of no female person shall be selected and listed, as aforesaid, unless she has registered with the clerk of the circuit court her desire to be so selected and listed. In making the selections and the preparation of said lists, the jury commissioners may confer with one or more of the judges of the circuit court of the county and the county judge of the county, and shall have the power, without charge or cost, to examine at any reasonable time or times all documents and records in the office of the clerk of the circuit court and of any other county official as to persons who have been previously listed, summoned, not found, served or excused as jurors and all books, records and lists in the office of the supervisor of registration or other county official containing the names of electors of the county.
