§ 254-69. Advisory committee.

  • The district board shall by resolution appoint an advisory committee to assist the district board in formulating a plan for erosion prevention facilities and their construction, maintenance and operation each year; shall recommend to the district board a plan and funding for public recreational beach operation, maintenance and acquisition; and shall recommend an annual budget for consideration by the district board. The advisory committee shall meet as often as required by resolution of the district board to consider the work of the district and shall, in addition to any other duties assigned to it by the district board, make recommendations as to division of the district into areas and zones, special assessments for direct benefits, and any and all other matters and things necessary to carry out the purposes and functions of the district. Members of the advisory committee shall consist of a representative recommended by each of the municipalities having oceanfront lands within their boundaries in Brevard County and appointed by the district board, and may consist of four additional representatives appointed by the district board.
