§ 62-2886. Design of blocks.

  • (a)

    General: The widths and shapes of blocks shall be determined with due regard to:

    (1)

    Provision of adequate building sites suitable to the special needs of the use contemplated.

    (2)

    Zoning requirements as to lot size and dimensions.

    (3)

    Such access, circulation, control and safety of street traffic as deemed necessary to protect the public health, safety and welfare as approved by the traffic engineering division.

    (4)

    Blocks will be lettered and be separated by rights of ways, open space and/or common tracts and/or other tracts.

    (b)

    Width: Blocks should have sufficient width to allow two tiers of lots. Blocks may consist of single tier lots where such are required to separate residential development from through vehicular traffic or from nonresidential uses.
