Chapter 50. FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION |
Article II. FIRE SAFETY STANDARDS |
§ 50-36. Definitions.
The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
Classes of occupancy means purposes for which a building or portion thereof is intended to be used such as assembly, business, educational, hazardous, factory-industrial, institutional, mercantile, residential and storage.
Fire official means the county fire chief or designated director of Brevard County Public Safety.
Mixed occupancy means where two or more classes of occupancy occur in the same building.
Modifications means existing building approved exceptions or new construction variances to the provisions of this article.
