§ 62-1835. Dry cleaning plants, accessory to pickup stations.

  • In the BU-1 zoning classification, limited dry cleaning plants may be included as an accessory use to dry cleaning pickup stations under the following conditions. Dry cleaning plants that do not meet all of the following conditions are permitted in the BU-2 and industrial classifications:

    (1)

    The dry cleaning plant may serve no more than one additional dry cleaning pickup station in addition to the pickup station located on the premises.

    (2)

    The applicant must show sufficient proof that the plant is not oversized to serve more than one additional pickup station.

    (3)

    The vehicles used for transportation between dry cleaning sites shall be consistent with section 62-2117 regarding size of vehicles. Delivery vehicles shall be passenger type vans or pickup trucks not exceeding 24 feet in length.

    (4)

    The dry cleaning plant shall not use perchloroethylene or other toxic solvents but shall use a hydrocarbon based or similar solvent.
